Powers Gates & Lighting (formerly D&J Automatic) has been trusted for professional project installations and dependable service in the Springfield and Southwest Missouri areas for more than 20 years. Rob Powers

Owner / Chief Executive Officer

Rob joined D&J Automatic as the service technician in 2004. From there he moved to sales and system design and eventually became the Division Manager. In 2018, he founded Powers Gates & Lighting and purchased the D&J Automatic division from Carnahan-White. As a former Army Ranger, Rob leads by example and keeps the Powers brand moving forward. Powers Contracting is the newest addition to the large variety of services we provide.

Chaz Powers

Chief Operating Officer

Chaz was recruited to D&J Automatic in 2010. Besides being factory-trained, he holds IDEA Certifications as both Automated Gate Systems Designer and Automated Gate Operator Installer. Chaz has also completed OSHA 30-Hour and 10-Hour Construction Safety courses. He sets the bar with experience in multiple areas of construction, a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.

Skylar Powers

Chief Financial Officer

Skylar joined the team in 2018 when D&J Automatic became Powers Gates & Lighting. She handles all the bookkeeping, accounting and financial responsibilities for the company. Skylar’s strong customer service skills also provide essential support to the estimating and sales departments.

Jennifer Ruble

Operations Manager

Jennifer came to D&J Automatic in 2005 from a safety systems integrator in Kansas City with an extensive background in customer service, office administration and technical logistics. Client support, scheduling, billing and human resources are just a few of the many hats she wears that are vital to Powers’ daily operations.

Chris Richards

Service Manager

D&J Automatic hired Chris in 2013 as a service technician. His education in electronics, plus previous experience with gate automation and access control, made him a perfect fit. He’s completed multiple factory-based training programs and the OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety course. Chris is a customer favorite, not only for his knowledge, but for his dedication to taking exceptional care of our clients.

Our technicians are crucial to Powers’ success. Our installation crews are well trained and make sure every project is completed to our exacting standards. The service techs stay updated on the latest technology so we can provide our customers with reliable repairs. They’re family and have all completed OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety courses and undergo continuing education and training on the newest industry solutions and practices.
